COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TAPE, TEXTILE, COTTON, GENERAL PURPOSE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to DDD-7-86.
1. CLASSIFICATION.
1.1 Classification. This commercial item description covers tapes in the following types and classes as specified (see 5.2):
Type I- Stay bindings, herringbone twill weave
Type II- Bindings, plain weave
Class 1- Unbleached
Class 2- Bleached
Class 3- Dyed
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Description. The tape shall be fabricated from cotton yarns. The tapes shall be woven on shuttle or shuttleless looms.
2.2 Dyeing. The colored tape shall be yarn, stock, or piece dyed.
