2.3 Product demonstration model. During the solicitation phase, interest firms shall provide the procuring agency with four product demonstration models (two pairs) of the item they propose to furnish for evaluation. The two pairs provided by the successful offerer shall be tagged and sealed. One shall be retained by the Procuring Agency and the other furnished the assigned Quality Assurance Representative (CAR) for use as a reference in performing the examination in paragraph 3.2 and the scoring of defects in design, material, and workmanship not otherwise classified herein.
3. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
3.1 Certification. When requested by the Contracting Office, the contractor shall certify maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description (CID), and that the product conforms to the producer’s mm drawings, specification, standards and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
3.2 Examination of the end item. The laces shall be inspected in accordance with MIL-STD-105. Defects found during the examination of the end item shall be classified as below. The inspection level shall be I and the AQL shall be 2.5 defects per 100 units. The lot size shall be expressed in units of pairs. The sample unit shall be one finished lace, and the selection shall be in pairs. Defects for pairing shall be classified as a single defect.
