All dimensions are absolute as defined in ASTM E 29.
3.3. Marking. Each package of safety pins shall be legibly marked with the manufacturer’s name or trademark.
3.4. Workmanship. The safety pins shall be clean and uniform in size and design. Except for the tapered point, the safety pins shall be free of burrs and sharp edges.
3.5. Commercial item. The use of the term “commercial item” in this document does not imply that any item or offered are not required to conform with all requirements specified herein.
3.6. Measurement system. The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The metric values stated in parenthesis are for information purposes only.
3.7 Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerances specified and all other requirement of this document are set. If a product is manufacture to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable.
4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS.
4.1. Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23-403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
5. QUALITY ASSURANCE.
5.1. General quality statement, the products provided shall conform to the producer’s owb drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
